Students will learn advanced vocabulary and grammar structures used in business texts and be able to recognise and use such vocabulary and grammar independently.
Examples of advanced vocabulary: phrasal verbs, collocations
Examples of advanced grammar structures: inversion and fronting, participle clauses, hedging language
Vocabulary and grammar will be explained entirely in English.
There will be no specific vocabulary or grammar lessons as such; instead, real-life texts (newspaper articles, websites, etc.) will be selected for their relevance to the content and then useful vocabulary and grammar structures in these texts will be identified and discussed together in class. The aim is to give students the technique to identify vocabulary and grammar structures outside of the classroom in independent reading.
