In-depth study of the application of computer simulation techniques to business decision making and process improvement. Students will be introduced the concept of using simulation modeling for analyzing the complex business process such as multi-teller banks, computer networks, automated manufacturing systems, and airport terminals. Topics will include basic statistics, discrete-event simulation approaches, simulated data analysis, and simulation variance reduction techniques. Simulation software packages are extensively used in this class. A term project will be given within the course that provides an opportunity to develop the complete simulation study suited to the learner's interests. |
