You are a university student so the chances are your IQ is above average - but what about your EQ?

EQ describes your level of EI (Emotional Intelligence) and the good news is that, unlike IQ, EI skills can be learned and improved at any age.

Many studies have shown that it is an important factor in enabling academic and workplace success.

This is an "experiential" course, ie the group's participation is a vital ingredient, conducted in a friendly supportive atmosphere, which includes surveys, discussions and activities based on learning and practicing the components of Emotional Intelligence, such as Self Regard, Interpersonal Relationships, Assertiveness, Empathy, Problem Solving, Stress Tolerance (and others which you get a chance to select).

You can find out more about Emotional Intelligence and its importance from the introductory chapter of the course workbook (required see Literatur section) here:

https://media.wiley.com/product_data/excerpt/03/11180946/1118094603-35.pdf  (page 3 has an excellent graphic overview)

You can also listen to this podcast with an interview with Daniel Goleman, the original populariser of the concept of Emotional Intelligence.

In addition to building your EQ and practicing your English, you will have a pleasant time, as confirmed by these student comments from earler semesters:

  • “Thanks again for the very enjoyable class!”
  • “I've had more fun than in any other course I've taken …….. and learnt a lot!”
  • “Thank you very much for the great time I had during your class!
  • For my part, I now have procedures and options for approaching difficult situations and decisions, and these will certainly help me. Thank you for this amazing course!

Places are limited - register now!!

Please note - Minimum 75% attendance and successful completion of end of course assessment required to qualify for course credits
