The course is an overview of Maple 10 and Mathematica 5.2 which are the world leaders among modern CAS; of their basic algorithms and applications to engineering and industry. The course deals with questions how to solve algebraic and differential equations, to manipulate with polynomials, to plot and animate 2D and 3D mathematical objects, to perform approximate numerical computations using Maple and Mathematica. Within the course facilities of both systems will be compared and illustrated by numerous examples. Special attention will be paid to application of Maple and Mathematica to robotics, electrical circuit simulation, process control, symbolic analysis of mechanical system dynamics and other engineering and industrial problems. |
