The respective case studies will be distributed in class.

Lernziele

Transfer from Theory to Practice via the Case Study Method.

Apply your business know how to real world cases and companies.

Improve your business related English skills.

Voraussetzungen

"Business Analysis and Valuation" will be taught in English.

Business Analysis and Valuation is designed for students in their upper-intermediate level of studies.

Basic knowledge in Business Administration / Managerial and Cost Accounting is a prerequisite to attend this class.

Leistungsnachweis

From summer term SS 2026 onward, German and International Students of course #4906 Business Analysis and Valuation (Prof. Neff)

will obtain 5 ETCS (formerly: 3 ETCS) for participation in this elective course.

Thus, the number of assignments for the Portfolio Exam will be raised from 3 to 5 assigments.

 

Portfolio Exam in SS 2026:

1. short Presentation (New): System of Higher Education in Germany/your home country - How do you get access to the labour market with a degree from University?

2. Role Play in Class: Business Negotiation

3. short Presentation (New): Recent economic trends in Germany / your home country

4. Written Assignment: Summary of one of the case studies

 

Hint: All the assigments for the Portfolio Exam have to be submitted during the section meetings of "Business Analysis and Valuation".

There will be no written exam in July 2026.

Instead, you will have to participate actively in the case study discussions.

Therefore, your attendance during all section meetings is required.

Lerninhalte

We will work with various case studies from different industries

dealing with business analysis, management and cost accounting,

performance measurement, distress probability etc.

Cases will be distributed in class or via moodle platform.

Zielgruppe

German Students of Business Administration seeking to improve their Business English skills.

International Students with interest in Business Administration seeking to discuss real world Business Cases.
