Practical IT Security (PSEC) is a course to gain practical knowledge in advanced security topics and at the same time improve soft-skills as an IT security professional. It prepares participation at a (international) capture-the-flag contest as a RWU team. Topics are prepared and trained in a peer-to-pear teaching approach applying Active Learning didactics. Examples for possible topics are: Windows Security and Mimikatz, Kali Linux, Network Scanning, Rust Programming, WiFi Security, Binary Reverse Engineering, and Attacking Large Language Models. The lecture is rounded off by guest presentations of multiple security experts from companies based throughout Germany, giving insights into their daily way of working. |
